In our district, we are viewing the Common Core as a way to continue to make mathematics meaningful and engaging across the PreK to Grade 12 continuum. We are starting with deep investigations of the Standards of Mathematical Practice, integrating the classroom environment that supports these eight practices while continuing with our current curriculum. Over the next few years, we will revise the standards of courses to match the Common Core State Standards. We are excited about the enhancement of learning environments we feel that the Common Core will help us deliver!
